HFW: Day 2 - Formal Attire

Salam ladies

Alhamdulillah..got a chance to see everyone's looks for Day 1 outfit post.
Just amazing!! So here comes the second outfit.

Day 2 - 'Formal Attire'

Formal events could be anything. As for today's entry, i chose to post out what i would wear if i went out for a wedding! We Malaysians have our own traditional outfits that we normally wear for a wedding or a soiree. It is called a 'baju kurung' or a 'kebaya'. But mostly, we bought the fabric from Indonesia as they have such beautifully made designs of their own. Almost many shops here in Malaysia sells their 'kerawang' kebaya, as shown on my pictures below. And also recently as for the latest fashion people chose 'abaya'. But actually, as long as it is suitable with the events and not so 'daring' looking, then it's fine. Because you have to give some respect to the family or friends or relatives that gathers around at the party. And the best part is, you'd feel really comfortable wearing it.

What i was wearing:

Traditional outfit | Indonesian's Kerawang Kebaya in turquoise bought at PKNS, Shah Alam
Gray sling bag | from Sis Closette
Silk satin scarf in nude beige | Schanaz of Sputnik Sweetheart's Shop
Tribal feathered heels | Bonia (as shown {here} on my previous blog post at a fashion show)
Pearl bracelet | from mum

Okay, this is my first attempt of doing mirror image pictures..lol..because you know, it is not easy to find the right place for it to be turned out well when doing double image. And of course, this is truly inspired by Sis Ami Schaheera as she loved to make her photos in double and it always looked pretty.

HFW: Day 1 - Work Wear

Finally it's here!!

The Hijabi Fashion Week 2011!!

So for Day 1 outfit post, 'Work Wear'

The Outfit
This is what i would wear for work. Basically, my company do not have a strict code when it comes to dressing up. It depends on what type of work that you are assigned to. As for myself, i work in an office, but also i had to perform some work task in a production line, where you have to work with operators and machines, and sometimes you need to involve with the process, too. However, it really doesn't matter if you wear a pants or a skirt because my work usually on a documentation wise.

The Dress Code
Whenever i need to do a paperwork or presentations, I'd prefer something classy yet fashionable in my own way. And that is why i chose dark-colored maxi skirt, matched with lace dark blue tops with a black long-sleeve underneath, with wide metal-buttoned belt to accessorize the outfit  beside the bracelet and also a plain-colored cotton scarf.

The 'Brief' Case & The Shoes
For my personal belongings, i normally bring everything from my make-up case, to other necessary stuffs that all girls should have in their bag, for example like my cards holder, my wallet and a coin purse, facial-cottons, small water bottle, mobile charger, small paper bags, hair clips, scarf pins, or even an umbrella. All these stuff could be well fitted in my large dark-blue retro Topshop-alike bag. And, as you need to be professional ala Legally Blonde style, you'd pretty much prefer a nice Charles & Keith heels. I'm not into pumps, i am more the 'peep-toe' type. You can also wear a flats but that would be perfect with slack pants. As for skirts, high-heels are the best, don't you think?

What i wore:

Altered charcoal maxi skirt | The October
Dark blue lace tops | From cousin, Lilchurlish
Black long-sleeve inner | Ampang Park
Wide metal-buttoned belt | From sister
Plain-colored cotton scarf | Bangi
Retro Topshop-alike dark-blue bag | The Bag Galore
Straps heels | Charles & Keith
Bracelet | Subang Parade

My Review on Capsters - The Hijab for Sports

Hello and Salam all! Happy Sunday =)

Here, I'm going to do a little review about Capsters, the hijab specially designed for sporty hijabers. This review is for Capsters Runner only! However, they have various products to choose from. They have capsters for watersports: the Swim and Surf type, capsters for sports: Aerobics, Outdoors, Team, and Runner, capsters for casual use: Basic, Easy and Jeans. And also they designed a capsters for luxurious lady out there: Lady Exclusive. Interesting, rite? So many types for your needs.

Firstly, I wanna say thanks a lot to LoveHFW and Capsters for giving me the opportunity to participate and trying out the new product of capsters by sending me the FREE sample. When i received it in my home mailbox, i was so anxious to open in up and i was amazed by just looking at it! Millionth thanks again, Capsters!

So, talked about super excited, i dashes into my room and first time touching it i was like, "gosh, i think this is so perfect if i went out for a jog during the weekends and it would be so comfortable" and yes, it turned out really comfy when i slipped it over my head, and i wondered how can it be made for sports because i thought that it would not absorb the sweats because i didn't really know about the material, it felt so canvas-y type and i already thought of going really hot in it. But, if you go to their website, it is mentioned that the capsters are made of a breathable material, and what's best is that it is also stretchable, plus, it comes with variety of beautifully matched colors. For example like the one i'm requesting, Capsters Runner, it is a combination of dark blue and grey-green colors. Such creative and pretty, too!

As you can see, it is easy to wear and you may not find a hard time like when you're wearing your scarf or pashmina.  You just have to properly slip it over your head , similar to when you're wearing your inner hijab and voila, you're ready for your outdoors activity! Without having to worry about getting so hot and sweaty during exercising or even under a sunny day as the air-flow is just great.

Capsters also have a Facebook page. Click here and be their fan to get daily updates about their products. And together with HFW event, they had a discussions going on at the Facebook photos here. If you have any doubts or any inquiries that you would like to ask them regarding Capsters, you can just post out your comments or thoughts and they will answer your questions straight away. I had also asked them about the desired length of capsters, find out the answer below.

Received Capsters Runner few days ago and already styled it..i hope in HFW, i will be featured in Day 3 Work Out Wear as i'm going to show people how i fell in love with it..love the packaging, love the material, love the great design..i usually went out for a jog or a walk in the morning during free weekends and that is why i chose Capsters Runner..thank you once again for this great opportunity and for the free sample..loved it!! however, i have one question..i don't know whether i have a long neck or is it the Capster's design is not lengthy enough 'til you can cover up completely your neck..i mean when i wore it, i have to like wear a scarf round my neck because i think i wore a round neck shirt and sometimes it doesn't cover up your chest and shoulders as well..i will do a review on your product the soonest possible insya-Allah..See More

  • Capsters Dear Iylia thank you for your post and feedback! A lot of our Sports line designs have shorter collars than the other hijabs in our Casual line have. This is due to safety reasons (at www.capsters.com you can find the background of why I started to design sportshijabs and it's safety issues), but we're thinking about making a longer version with our next production!

Johnny's Steamboat and La Senza date with besties

Have you ever tried a steamboat before? I bet you all does, rite? Well, if you noticed, i've been updating my blog with lotsa food stuff, i just went out and eat and eat and eat, but i ain't going bigger, either LOL! But never mind, i'm just enjoying food as much as everyone else enjoying it, haha  =)

So on my date nite with the boyfriend, we went to One Utama, Damansara, basically to buy my mum a gift of Mother's Day specials from Crabtree & Evelyn (which she did mentioned that she wanted it). Lavender is the new & latest product at Crabtree, so you guys should go and buy one, too..if not for your mothers, for yourself also can maaa...

And we went to my all time favorite steamboat place, Johnny's! We were just love the dip 'thai-flavored' sauce and also Tomyam soup..And their prices are quite reasonable, too..So if you go there every weekends, i think it should be no harm for your pockets, *winks*..

And!!!...Here are some shots of me and my partner's in crime, Faridah..i told you on my previous post that i registered a One Card, rite? So One Utama had generously email all One Card holders for the invites to La Senza Body Kiss new launch party happening at their outlets in One Utama.

But, unfortunately, we arrived there a bit late to receive the first-come-first-serve 100 goodies from LaSenza, so we didn't get our chance to get the goodie bags, so sad though, but we managed to grab some of the candies and lollipops, and coz we kinda frustrated, we left early so we didn't stay for the fashion show, and no pictures of the event, sorry! Oohh and Jezmine got special invites to the launch itself at Pavilion, KL. Just go to her blog to check-out what she got from La Senza and what she wore to the party {here}.

Did some shopping at Forever 21..

A Visit to Mac City + Okonomiyaki

Another hang-outs with mum and sister. This time, we went to Mac City stores to buy some stuff. Not just an ordinary stuff i have to say, heh! But a new notebook for sister for her college. She's currently doing her degree in Multimedia and she needs computers with highly applications and softwares that could help her with all the arts and graphic designing. With all that matter, mum was gracefully enough to support her by trying to fulfill whatever that she needs in order for her to get good grades in her studies. That's why we love mum so much!! xoxo

Before that, we had lunch at Secret Recipe
My sister & me
Below picture with mum

We saw him at the counter and he came to sit beside us.
Luckily, it was not long. He already took off few minutes. Fewww!!
Felt really uncomfortable when he was sitting beside me..huhu..nervousness all over!!

What we had for lunch

After some walks, we made mum to try this famous Japanese course, Okonomiyaki. hehe..me and my sister love this, our all-time faves..but poor thing she doesn't like it..maybe there's a lot of eggs and mayonaise spread on top of this dish..well, i gotta tell ya, it was really delicious..especially with baby octopus fillings..yummeh!! and we had 'em with extra pearls honeydew flavored milk-tea..such a great combinations!!
